聴秋閣の葵の柄の襖 建築探訪その１
横浜の三渓園古建築特別公開で、聴秋閣を訪ねました。
秋聴閣は、1623年に佐久間将監(さくましょうげん)によって建てられ、重要文化財に指定されています。
当時の襖は傷みが激しく、現在の襖は戦後、当時のものを忠実に模写したものです。
鳥の子紙に葵の絵柄、溜塗りの椽(ふち)、葵をかたちどった引手でつくられた襖は、
実に洗練され美しく、モダンな感じにも見受けられます。
葵の文様は、植物の双葉葵(ふたばあおい)をモチーフとし、そのデザイン力の素晴
らしさに感服してしまいます。
